We have written this privacy policy as a single article so that customers can understand, in plain language, what information we collect, why we use it, who we may share it with, and what rights you have under UK data protection law.
This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions. If a specific form, booking flow, or communication channel gives you more detailed privacy information for a particular use case, that more specific information should also be taken into account.
1. Introduction
EliteClean is a residential cleaning business. This policy applies to personal data we process when people visit our website, ask us about carpet cleaning, deep cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, after builders cleaning, upholstery cleaning, oven cleaning, or related services, and when they go on to book, rearrange, or discuss work with us.
We act as the data controller for the personal data we process for our own business purposes under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. That means we decide why and how your personal data is used for our website, quote, booking, customer-service, and administrative processes.

We have not named a separate data protection officer on this site. If you have a privacy question, data request, or complaint about how your information is handled, you should use the contact details above.
3. Personal data we collect
The types of personal data we may collect depend on how you interact with us. This can include identity and contact details such as your name, email address, phone number, and any contact details you choose to provide through forms, email, or WhatsApp.
It can also include quote and booking information such as the cleaning service requested, postcode, property size, room count, preferred dates and times, access notes, item details, enquiry message content, and other information needed to understand the job and prepare or manage a booking.
Where relevant, we may also process communications data such as phone, email, and WhatsApp conversations; customer-support and complaint records; invoice or payment administration information; and any photos or property-condition information you choose to send us separately to support a quote or explain an issue.
When you use the website, we may collect technical and usage data such as IP-related information, browser and device information, pages visited, referrer information, UTM campaign parameters, device type, and interaction events. We may also use browser storage or similar technologies to remember attribution and quote journey context between pages.
If you choose to use location-based features or allow browser geolocation, we may process location data such as a latitude and longitude reading, or location-derived city information, to help show relevant area or service information. We do not ask customers to send special category data as part of ordinary quote and booking enquiries, and we ask you not to send unnecessary sensitive information through the site.
4. How we collect it
We collect personal data directly from you when you fill in the contact form, use the quote or booking flow, send us a message, email us, call us, message us on WhatsApp, or otherwise provide information about the service you need.
We also collect some data automatically when you browse the site. For example, our analytics and attribution setup can record page views, CTA clicks, referrer information, device type, and campaign-related parameters. Anti-spam and security features can also process technical data such as IP-related information and user-agent data.
In some cases we may collect data from your device or browser with your involvement, such as when you allow geolocation access or use search and reverse-geocoding features to find supported areas. We may also receive information from a third party if somebody else makes a booking or sends an enquiry on your behalf.
5. How we use it
We use personal data to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, confirm bookings, provide cleaning services, manage appointments, answer questions, and deal with changes, complaints, follow-up, and general customer support. The lawful basis for this is usually taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing a contract once a booking has been made.
We use data for normal business administration, invoicing, accounting, record keeping, and handling disputes or claims. The lawful basis for this is usually our legitimate interests in running the business properly, and in some cases legal obligations, such as financial and tax record requirements.
We use technical and security-related data to protect forms, prevent spam or abuse, rate-limit misuse of our APIs, and keep the site functioning and measurable. This includes Cloudflare Turnstile verification where enabled and request-rate monitoring on some endpoints. The lawful basis is usually our legitimate interests in security, fraud prevention, site integrity, and safe operation of our services.
We also use analytics and attribution data to understand how people arrive on the site, which pages or calls to action are performing, which services are being requested, and how we can improve the website and quote flow. Depending on the technology used, this may involve both data protection rules and separate electronic privacy or cookie rules.
If you choose to grant browser location access, that information is used to help personalise location-related content or area relevance. The basis for that kind of processing is your active device or browser permission choice together with our legitimate interests in improving local relevance and user experience.
We do not currently run a general consumer email newsletter from this site. If we ever use your details for direct marketing in a way that requires additional consent or opt-out handling, we will update this policy and provide the relevant controls.
8. How long we keep data
We do not aim to keep personal data longer than necessary. The exact retention period depends on the purpose of the information and the context in which it was collected.
Enquiry, quote, and booking records may be kept for as long as needed to deal with the request, provide follow-up service, answer later questions, handle complaints, and maintain a reasonable service history. Financial and invoice-related information may be kept for longer where tax, accounting, or legal record-keeping obligations apply.
Security, anti-spam, and technical logs are generally kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for protection, investigation, and operational monitoring. Browser-based analytics, storage, and attribution data may persist according to browser settings, the lifetime of the storage used, and provider retention settings unless deleted earlier by you or by us.
9. Security and spam prevention
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data and to reduce spam, abuse, and misuse of the site. This includes validation rules, rate limiting, anti-spam measures, and security checks on relevant forms and API routes.
No website, transmission route, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. For that reason, you should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through ordinary contact forms and should use care when choosing what you share with us electronically.
10. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to be informed, the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restrict processing, the right to object, and the right to data portability, depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis we rely on.
If we rely on consent for a particular activity, you may withdraw that consent. If we rely on legitimate interests, you may have the right to object. If we use your information for direct marketing, the right to object is especially important and should be clearly available.
To exercise your rights, contact us at elitecarpetupholsteryclean@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request. We will normally aim to respond within the time required by law, which is usually one calendar month unless an extension is lawfully permitted.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. The ICO's website is ico.org.uk.
11. Children and automated decision-making
Our services and website are aimed at adults arranging residential cleaning services. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal data from children through the normal operation of the site.
We do not currently use solely automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects on individuals in the way described by UK data protection law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the website, the quote flow, our service operations, suppliers, analytics setup, or the law. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page.
